Your " Dwelling of Dreams was truly lovely home for our fortnight away, with everything we needed and more. We were extremely fortunate to have some of the best weather of the year, with some beautiful sunsets and breath taking starry skies. The view from the house is very special and we spent many happy hours watching the ever changing cloudscapes and ships passing up and down the North Minch. The amazing view from the " Top of the World" behind the house is the view of Assynt you want to remember.

An aptly named house in a beautiful setting with ever changing views that you could spend endless days watching. The house is located in a wonderful place which is so remote you can just forget the world and relax. Our stay here was absolutely perfect, the house was fantastic and we are already booked to go again next year. If you want to escape, then this is the place to come.

We had such a delicious week in your perfect house. Amazing landscapes and nature in this beautiful part of Scotland we didnt' know. Assynt gave us more pleasure than we could expect: nice walks, nice wild animals, nice beaches, nice drinks ( Jura) and delicious local food. ( fresh langoustines and tiny lobsters from Kylesku, smoked salmon as well)... and not so many rainy moments finally. We'll be back!

We had a lovely time and your cottage was a superb place to stay. Weather wasn't too bad in the end and we managed to do a lot of walking on the peninsular, Stac Pollaidh, Assynt and Durness areas... Assynt has some pretty evil midges!!, but elsewhere we had a nice breeze most of the time. The coast has pretty good conditions even when raining inland, so there was always something to do/see. Amazed how few tourists there were really: the Dutch, Germans and Italians seem to have discovered the area, but not the Brits!

" A light, warm, spacious house in a wild, wonderful location( ideal for bird enthusiasts)" When we booked “Aros nan Aisling”, we thought it looked a lovely house, in an interesting place. It far exceeded our expectations - it has far reaching views across a bit of moorland to the sea, and the whole house is modern, spacious and incredibly light and warm. The geology, the walks, the little hamlets and villages, the roads, are all incredible. But the best thing is the bird life around you: our highlights have been listening to snipes drumming from the sitting room and seeing two cuckoos( male and female) every day. Before we arrived, Carol sent us a really useful pack including information about local history, a comprehensive list of things to do, recommendations for restaurants and encouragement to support local businesses. With heating from an air source heat pump, we felt like this was a holiday home that cared about where it was, making it's impact locally as positive a possible, while providing for holiday makers in an eco - conscious way without compromising on comfort! It's great value for money - there were just two of us, but you could have easily have 8.

A very special place to stay, a beautiful house with stunning views, a perfect base for exploring this spectacular area of Scotland. Good location for a variety of walks. as the name implies, one could spend many hours dreaming in front of the fire or looking to the far horizon. a perfect place for a holiday We were delighted to find the house bright, welcoming and comfortable. Like a Tardis it is much bigger in the inside and has the most wonderful spiral staircase & wet rooms, beautiful spacious bedrooms and all the comforts you could wish for. The main room has a beautiful view and on the few clear days we could see the Islands across the Minch and the beams from 3 lighthouses. The Hill behind the house, dubbed 'The Top of the World' by a previous young visitor, is a must - the 360 view is breathtaking! The Stoer lighthouse is 2 miles down the road and has great views, hot drinks and is the start point for coastal walks towards the Old Man of Stoer. Stewart Yates is a local guide and Fly fisherman -www.assyntflyfishing.com who took my husband out for a days exploring and fishing in some of the inner lochs - they had a fantastic time. We were also joined by our 2 grown up children & partners who loved the house, they used the upstairs rooms and found some great running routes! Tips for the local food: Lochinver Butchers have the very best black pudding we have ever eaten, the venison & redcurrent sausages were also amazing - in fact all the meat was wonderful! We also found the Riverside Bistro offered amazing pies, so good you can by them online (www.piesbypost.co.uk), we had a great lunch there. Carol & Roy provide really comprehensive information about the house & area, their caretaker Jane was very helpful and bakes great scones - this all goes to make for a great stress free holiday - truly a 'dwelling of dreams'!

We had a lovely week in this perfect house which was well situated with beautiful views out to the sea. Lots of scenic walks near the house down to the coastline and up to Stoer Lighthouse. There was lots to do for all ages in our family including seakayaking, visiting Handa island to see te puffins, enjoying some excellent seafood in local restaurants and just exploring the stunning coastline extending northwards, with all the islands, inlets and lochs

We could only spend six days based in Stoer in this fantastic, comfortable and well equipped house, using it a base from which to travel Assynt and around the North West of Scotland between Ullapool, Durness (Cape Wrath) and Lairg. So regardless of the weather (which was a mix of two wet, one cloudy and three sunny days) the house is plenty roomy and equipped to entertain family, friends or yourselves. The location and area around is stunning, with some great walks (or cycling) around lochs and up the hills and over to the Old Man of Stoer (not Storr - that's on Skye) then on to around the point of Stoer. As well as the scenery, there is plenty of wildlife to be seen with both the house-owners and the cafe at the lighthouse having list of recent sightings of whales, dolphins, seals and a lot of birds. We did see a lot ourselves (including deer, eagles, buzzards, kites, heron and all those on Handa Island) but unfortunately no whales or otters this time, maybe next time. So, plenty of "likes", no "dislikes", would certainly go again, would recommend to someone looking to visit that area and would advise: take food, a good camera, binoculars (although there is a pair in the house to use), wet weather gear, walking boots, an OS map (app or paper) and research the area - there's plenty of good websites. Everything else is in the house.

"We spent four days here, and would have liked to stay longer. A fully - equipped house with a cosy fire, dramatic views out over the sea and a more comfortable bed than our own - we really couldn't have asked for more. The house is perfectly located for walking, cyckling, fishing, wildlife spotting, painting, photography, cooking , convivila evenings or just realxing with a book or DVD. Whether you're looking for solitude or a holiday with family or friends on beautiful countryside, Aros nan Aisling, Dwelling of Dreams is for you"

I spent two enjoyable weeks at this well equipped, warm, comfortable modern house with stunning views to front and rear. Good walking area with plenty of chances to see the local wildlife and easy access to sounding areas. As the name implies one could spend many hours dreaming in front of the fire or looking to the far horizon, a perfect place for a holiday.

We spent a lovely week in this delightful holiday cottage over Easter (avoiding the midges!). The location is beautiful, with sea views, plenty of options for walks around the Stoer peninsula, and lovely locations like Lochinver, Quinag and Kylesku only a drive away. The cottage itself is modern, clean and spacious with all the facilities you could want, and a perfect base for exploring this spectacular area of Scotland.

'We stayed 5 nights in May 2013. The house was perfect for a quiet, away from it all, holiday. An ideal place to relax in comfort, to sit in the lounge looking out across the water to the Isle Of Lewis or donning your walking boots to explore the many walks in the area. This is a beautiful house with stunning, perfect views which is decorated to a high standard, very clean accommodation & is very spacious, bright & airy. I loved watching the lights twinkling across the water at Stornaway & the sun setting. If you enjoy nature, as I do, I loved that the house is surrounded by sheep, cattle and red deer! We even saw seals in the bay on our visit. I look forward to returning again some day.'

If you are searching for peace, quiet and beautiful views, this is a splendid location: looking out towards Skye and the Hebrides there are fantastic sunsets, looking inland some of the extraordinary mountains and hills that make this part of the Highlands a unique Geopark. The house is beautifully finished, comfortable and snug in cooler weather, with a very well appointed kitchen area and everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The bedrooms are spacious and the large landing area (at the top of a lovely spiral stair) makes the whole house feel airy and relaxed. A very special place to stay.
